NEVER BEEN SKIING OR SNOWBOARDING?

A free lesson with every lift ticket!

What is Skiing?

Skiing is being crazy enough to strap a long thin board to each foot and glide down a hill.

Basically, you wear boots (provided with rentals) that click into things called bindings

you find on skis. Just step into them and boom you’re ready to go. You make turns on snow while gliding down a hill and having fun. As you progress it gets more and more addicting… believe us we would know.

What is Snowboarding?

Snowboarding is strapping a board onto your feet and hoping you know how to stop.

You wear boots, but strap them into a board every time you put them on. Just like skiing you make turns on a hill, but you are going sideways on only one board. Boots and

a board are provided with rentals.

This is a basic list, it can be used generally for boys and girls interchangeably.

  • Long underwear is key to staying warm. If you do not own any I highly suggest investing in some. You can manage with a shirt and sweatpants if need-be

  • Have a winter jacket -- Any heavier snow jacket works! Waterproof helps too!

    • You never know what happens in Indiana so you may be skiing when it is 5 or 60 degrees (Dress accordingly, I skied in a long-sleeve shirt last year)

  • A pair of snow pants is important in keeping you dry from melting snow on body heat. I usually wear long underwear and sweatpants under my snow pants but not required

  • Wear an under jacket/pullover

  • Long socks are important to keeping your feet warm, but ski boots do the job well too

  • A good pair of gloves are very important to keep your fingers from freezing. If it is going to be cold I recommend hand warmers from a place like Dick’s that are a few dollars.

  • Wear a hat while traveling, but the helmet you rent is sufficient enough

  • Goggles are not required, they are helpful in keeping your eyes from watering and snow out of them, and also act as sunglasses because snow is reflective and very bright.

    • You can find a pair at Dick’s for example but they can be expensive

    • Giro and Bolle have great basic goggles from $20-$30 (Do not buy clear lensed ones)
